This has been done on the proviso that he is actually able to get a run as he is currently listed as the fifth emergency, but should he get a start The ‘Cock will be licking his lips at the prospect of the $17 top price, which is well over the odds.

Pray to anyone who will listen that Spurcraft (19) can get a run because he looks one of the best value pops anywhere in the country on the day, with The ‘Cock poised to pull the trigger on the $17 with Bet365 the second there is confirmation.

Magic Consol (5) goes in on top for The ‘Cock from Boom Time (1) & High Church (2) and the market looks to have it pretty spot on as a whole, but there is a level of uncertainty around both of those key challenger’s and the next best Second Bullet (4) who are all first-up.

Not much pace on offer to potentially shake things up, so The ‘Cock will be taking great confidence from the concrete exposed form that Magic Consol (5) brings into the race with five under his belt this campaign, culminating in the last start win at Caulfield last time out.

No reason he won’t be holding that level of performance again here with a big drop in weight to compensate for the rise in grade, but The ‘Cock will have his feathers on show as he jumps on the $2.90 top quote.
