RACE 2

Invincibella (3) is the clear top-rated chance, ahead of Linguist (13), Tahanee (5) & Pygmy (4) as the four runners The ‘Cock considers capable of winning on previous form.

Invincibella came down to Melbourne for the third time last start and produced a strong run for third over 1600m in the Tesio at Moonee Valley, and The ‘Cock expects her to be better again for that run here. Rated well enough last start to win this one if she can replicate it, but The ‘Cock sees good scope for her to go even better than that fourth up and rates her a $3 chance.

Linguist produced a career peak rating in her last start win at Ballarat when third up at the mile, and The ‘Cock can’t see her regressing on that at all here. Her only previous start here came down the straight on debut where she struggled, but she will be much better with the added experience and around the bend, rating $4.80 for The ‘Cock and well over the odds at $15. Given that huge value differential between the top two, she is The ‘Cock’s best bet of the race.

Tahanee’s last start in the Tesio was well off the mark for what will be required to win this, but The ‘Cock expects some natural improvement third up that will push her back towards her best form that she showed in Dubai earlier in the year. Still rate her behind the others, but have to expect her to be at the pointy end of proceedings.

I Thought So (15) rates on top ahead of Faatinah (3), who then has a good gap to Casino Wizard (5) and Princess Of Queens (16) next.

I Thought So provides one of the better investment prospects for the day at $6, rating on top after producing a career peak last start at Randwick when running second, and The ‘Cock expects he improves on that fourth up today with Tommy Berry onboard. Marked a $3 chance for The ‘Cock so happy to take the overs.

Faatinah is third up today and certainly capable of taking it up to I Thought So at his best, and while recent efforts haven’t quite been at that level, his last start third in the Caulfield Sprint was a positive sign. Came out of the same race last year and ran second in this which is about what The ‘Cock expects again today.
