Third and final G1 for the day in the Queensland Derby provides another tough race from a betting perspective, but one where The ‘Cock is seeing enough value coming from the in-form Youngstar (16) to be interested with McEvoy in the saddle.
She rates a length clear of Dark Dream (1), Heavenly Thought (2), Live And Free (7) & Han Xin (8), and she looks nicely over the odds at $8 following four strong wins from five outings this campaign.
She’ll settle back in the field and be helped by the hot tempo up front that will see the leaders falling in a heap in the final 200m, so having shown an impressive turn of foot coming from behind in recent starts, she warrants your throwing some chips across the table.

Flemington Race 7 - 3.25pm
Expect a stack of speed will be on show in this one as all of Tried And Tired (11), Chamois Road (2), Ozi Choice (7), Knowable (15) & Cool Chap (5) look to take up advanced positions in the running and it shapes as a more open race than an initial glance at the market might suggest.
The ‘Cock has Chamois Road (2), Steel Frost (4) & Amovatio (1) rating as the top trio who have all been rating to a fairly similar level in recent runs, though Steel Frost (4) looks to be well under the odds by comparison to the other two and The ‘Cock won’t be getting sucked into them.
With both Chamois Road (2) & Amovatio (1) currently sitting at very generous double-figure price tags, The ‘Cock will be looking to have nips on both of them as his only involvement in this one.

Morphettville Race 7 - 4.22pm
The metronomically consistent Stragun (2) goes on top for The ‘Cock in this one after not missing the money in any six of his runs this campaign, and it’s hard to see anything changing today as he, along with Trogir (7) & Streetcar Illusion (6) hold a good gap to everything else.
You’d be going grey if you had backed Stragun (2) in each of his last five outings as he has hardly put a foot wrong yet been gunned down in the final strides on each occasion, with double-figure odds on the table virtually each time.
The hoof is firmly on the till though and The ‘Cock would hate to miss out on the $5 when the dam wall finally breaks.
